topofmurrayhill
Anyone know where to get the fully hydrogenated stuff, like melt point 150 or more and iodine value 10 or less?

CareBear
I don't know that it's FULLY hydrog, but I get the soy shortening from CF too and it seems very nice. Stable in soaps - no DOS (unless I set the wet bar on the rusty spots on my sink - then they will go spotty evenutally)
Meridith
I don't know what the mp is or if this is fully hydrogenated, but it is called that and you can also get it at MMS. ETA - I buy this for my soap and no issues.
topofmurrayhill
Thanks for the replies. The partially hydrogenated soy that MMS and Columbus sell are available from many soap suppliers and almost all candle suppliers. What I'm looking for however is the fully (or almost fully) hydrogenated stuff, which seems to be very hard to find in reasonable quantities. itsmejeffd
TNS has one they call hydrogenated although they don't indicate if it's partially or fully. It doesn't list the MP or iodine either. You might want to call Holly and ask her.http://shop.texasnaturalsupply.ieasysite.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=SOYH

TAS
I saw some at Costco. A big container, and it say hydrogenated, but I don't know if it is what you want - the price seemed very reasonable.TAS
