  1. I had a hunter give me deer urine last year to put in a soap! Blech!!!
  2. I think you're spamming my thread, not appreciated.
  3. Stamp came from Anhoki on Etsy. They are great deep stamps and only ended up with one bar that had a little bit of a square mark. It was totally my fault as I hit it too hard and off center with the mallet!
  4. I do! Waited to get it in the mail for this soap. Also ordered the flower. Worked perfectly, one of the best stamps I've used. Thanks for all the comments everyone!
  5. Here's a pic of the new soap I made for V-day. It's Endlessly In Love from NG. http://www.flickr.com/photos/31103770@N07/5381972092/ I don't know why I can never get a pic to post...grrr!
  6. I think it depends on where you get you PS, I use ICS. I tried a swirl at 1st and the brown eventually ate up the pink and it disappeared. I also start out with bright pink lotion but it always turns to a dark brown
  7. I have tried several times over the years to find a way to make Pink Sugar look prettier...it's one of my toughest scents for that. I don't use VS, this is the best I could come up with thus far. http://www.flickr.com/photos/31103770@N07/5356036652/
  8. Well I got some hard core soaping done this weekend! I made... 2 batches of Oatmeal, Milk & Honey 2 batches of Oatmeal, Honey & Goats Milk Sweetgrass Redneck Beer Soap (Pabst Blue Ribbon) Unscented Buttermilk Cool Citrus Basil Ginger Lime Sweet Pea Dragons Blood Endlessly in Love Pink Sugar I needed to make a lot more but there's always next weekend!
  9. I use English Lavender FO from NDA. I soften it with some vanilla, 2 parts lavender to 1 part vanilla. I can't keep it stocked, sells as fast as I make it.
  10. It seems ok if you plan to take a higher volume of cards to make it worthwile. It's 12.95 a month plus the %'s and trans fees. I personally don't have enough people wanting to use cards to warrant $13 minimum a month. The nice thing swiper for the iphone, ipad, etc is there is NO monthly fees to use it.
  11. Just an FYI, I started making these a year ago and had the same issue. I left them to sit, just to see what would happen. The scents with heavy vanilla eventually turned all brown, cupcake and frosting. I'll be working on them again now that my main season is over and will be trying the vanilla stablizer next.
  12. Kangaroo Blue Still has a website but nothing has been updated so I'm guessing they're gone too. I know some people were having issues with orders on here. So very sad to see Southern Soapers closing. They were the very 1st company I ordered from and Kelly was so very helpful when I got started.
  13. Wine soaps will turn brown or always have for me. The darker the wine, the darker the soap. As for scents you could pull up a page with descriptions of different wines and see if you can blend something to smell like it describes. Some are heavy on oaks, fruits...stuff like that.
  14. As someone else said the brand you use matters too. When I use to buy my lard locally using either Armour brand or from the local butcher it had a stronger smell that came through. Once I began buying from CF, never had that issue again.
  15. I have the premier acct and it works great for me. I can accept CC's thru my website by making a "add to cart" button on PayPal's website under merchant tools and adding it to my website.
  16. I'd go ahead and give them a full cure and them re zap them. It may just be because it didn't gel.
  17. Sounds to me like they need to be looking into insurance for the festival to protect the city and it's workers on their own. You'll have to decide how badly you want to do this show if they don't budge but there's no way I'd be adding additional insured (city, officers, employees and volunteers). That just puts you out there for a LOT of liability that's out of your control. You have no idea what all those people will be doing. Also, call your insurance agent and ask them. They should be able to explain better what kind of liability this would have your policy covering.
  18. I have to provide copies of insurance info for a lot of my shows but I personally would not list them as additional insured. I'd contact whomever is in chanrge of the show and see if that's truely required as some use a generic app from other shows and don't really require all that they say.
  19. Pink Sugar - ICS (smell cotton candy in it) Dreamsicle (I use orange vanilla from Southern Soapers?, I think) Marshmallow - Daystar (the truest sweet gooey marshmallow without the toasted note) Monkey Farts (ICS by far the best) S'Mores (ICS although I don't know if they carry it anymore) Jolly Rancher Green Apple (Just Scents)
  20. Looks to me like they'd work just fine. You can use so many things for molds, even Pringles cans!
  21. Some FO's will do this and chocolate mint is one that I just had this with too.
  22. The Dragon's Blood I got from ICS doesn't brown. Take a peek at it on my website, it's always stayed true to the color and I only use green oxide. Downside, she discontinued it due to lack of interest but I'm working on her to order me some (I buy 5-6 lbs at a time since it's such a huge seller for me). If you're interested I can let you know when I get more. It's the all time best Dragons Blood I've ever used! If anyone needs a sniffie pm me and I'll send one out.
  23. Wish I could help but I've yet to come across a good red either. If I get dark it's more of a burgundy. I switched my Dragon's Blood to green and black because when I was complaining I couldn't get a good blood red my son said "duh mom, everyone knows a dragons blood is green anyways"...LOL!
