pjm
I am still very much a newbie. I have not had much luck with paraffin so I am now trying 100% Soy. I melted 6oz, added 1/4oz of Just Scent's Pumpkin Nog, and 2 drops of dye. I poked relief holes and did a second pour. As it cooled, it developed 5 little air bubbles on the top. Is this to be expected? Could I just use a heat gun to fix it? I don't have one, but I am thinking about getting one. Thanks!Paula
itsallgood20
Hi Paula! Since you're using 100% soy, I'd say that you probably need to pour a little cooler--at least until you see the "slushy stage" or @ 110 degrees whichever is first. Hopefully that will eliminate some of the bubbles. Since you don't have a heat gun, you can use your blow dryer. Just put it on the low setting to begin with. dixylight
I also use soy, and a blow dryer works wonders for the tops of my candles!
pjm
If I pour it when it is slushy, will it still cool with a smooth look?Paula
topofmurrayhill
If you poke skinny holes deep into the wax and then repour on top of it, bubbles will still be coming up as the second pour sets up. You probably don't want to poke so deep and maybe make the holes a little wider to make sure they fill in with wax.
Kaybee23
Also, make sure you are not overheating your soy. That will cause it to bubble when you are trying to fix the top.
