cozyaromas
I recently ordered an Shea/Mango Butter blend from Green Leaf, and I was wondering how can I incorparate the blend in to my receipe. I just created an receipe on SoapCalc, and wanted to use 25% shea and 25% mango. Would I just use 50% of the mix and add my other ingredients like I normally would.I am having an brainfart, and I can't figure this out for nothing. CareBear
if the ratio in your shea/mango blend is 1:1 then yes.
Meridith
To be able to figure out your lye amounts, you will have to know what the ratio of the shea and the mango are in your blend. That's the problems with butter blends and soaping. IMO, unless you know the ratios, you are better off saving the blends for other B&B items and adding your butters in separately into your soap. Scented
Does Brenda know the ratio?
CareBear
btw, that's a lot of butters for a soap. not to say it won't be delightful but expect it to move right along.
mystical_angel1219
I would contact Brenda and ask her if the blend came from OBN. Their blend is 50/50. A few suppliers use them as a source for bulk butters.
CareBear
the SAP for the two are quite different, so please don't soap it till you know.
kool12
I would save it for a leave-on product.
