angied
Hi again, Like I said in a prior post I have been making candles...but now am going to try my hand at bath stuff. I bought some soap from Hobby Lobby (I know its not the best stuff...dont yell:D I am just playing right now...lol) But my question is with candle wax I use one of the presto pots to melt the wax....If I decide to stay with soaps can something like that be used as well? With the first couple little soaps I made I just heated it up in the microwave....and right now I will probably just play with the melt and pour method.Angie
the_amber_woods
They make a soap melter... it looks about like those home rice cookers. But I wouldn't use the presto pot... it gets a bit too hot for M&P

Jeana
I've used my crockpot to melt soap too.
angied
Thanks Jeana, I may have to try that out.Angie
Llyrellin
I don't know about yours, but the Hobby Lobby I live next to sells the soap melting pots right next to the soaps - they're about $20 or $30. I haven't gotten into soaps yet myself - though I want to - so I don't know if they work or not, but they're not too expensive, and you can always resell on ebay if you don't like it. Scent Cellar
Put the M&P in a pyrex pitcher and cover with saran wrap to keep the moisture in and heat in the microwave in short bursts (45 sec) and stir between bursts.
