Skiminims
Hey all,I'm getting some supplies in anticipation of my first batch. I'm going to do 1lb batches at a time. I found this mold at Peaks and was wondering if anyone has used it before:http://peakcandle.com/products/Round-Loaf-Soap-Mold__SM1048.aspxI thought it would be perfect since it holds 16oz. But it has two cavities...does that mean it's divided into two 8oz parts? I've never used a soap mold before so I was kind of confused when I saw it had 2 cavities. Call it a brain fart. I'm assuming if each half is 8oz then I can cut the 8oz parts in half to get 4oz bars. Does that make sense? :embarasse Thanks!
elfcat
I haven't used that particular one but I have used a round loaf mold similar to that one. They were each 16 oz cavity's. I think mine was a Life of the party version.

kandlekrazy
You can most likely save some $ by buying pvc pipe at a hardware store or home depot and 1 cap end for each mold you want to make. You can then make your mold whatever size you want it. They have different size diameter pipes and you just cut to the length you want. They work quite well.
