Skiminims
Hey all,I did a search to see if I could find an answer to my question, and couldn't find anything, so I apologize if there's a thread out there that answers this already...I'm currently using Reddig Glo dye chips, and I was wondering if you could mix two colors of dye chips to get a certain color. Can you do that with the dye chips or can this be done with liquid dye only?Anyone have any advice or suggestions on this? Thanks!!
laura9259
sure you can do it - I do it all the time to achieve certain colors.
R.S.
Of course you can mix them, the trick is maintaining the exact same color from batch to batch. You would be better off and get more consisten color by making batches that use whole chips, as opposed to half batches where you have to proportion the dye chips. Camay
Cierra Candles, which is now closed, still has their website up. They have a list of recipes for mixing the chips:http://www.cierracandles.com/color_mixing.aspxI would copy the info ASAP, as they might take it down any time now. Candybee
Be sure to write down your color 'recipe' once you have your mix just right. It will save a lot of headaches down the road.
