How long will soy wax last?

Recommended Posts

Under ideal conditions, a year. Your wax manufacturer should be able to give you a better idea and also tips on the ideal storing conditions for their wax. Remember that soy-based wax is basically super-hydrogenated shortening and it will go bad at some point... ;)

I was hoping to buy GB415.....will rethink it now. I was hoping to buy enough for a couple of years.....lolol while I can get it at a good price. The cost will go through the roof over here (Aussie) soon.

Cheers,

Hells

A lot of saturated oils are assigned a shelf life of a year or so, but it's a conservative estimate. They can last considerably longer when stored well. Storage conditions is the key consideration. If you can keep it cool and dry, I think you could easily store a couple years' worth of soy flakes. Under adverse conditions you might want to be more cautious.
