idacandlelady
for cetyl alcohol? I don't have any and the scrub recipe I want to make calls for it. Could I just up the e-wax or stearic? Which one?TIARebecca
coco
Do you have any BTMS? I sub that for the ewax and cetyl. You can always just leave it out and up the stearic, the cetyl just gives a nicer feel.
idacandlelady
I discovered that the e-wax I have is the Conditioning e-wax. I think that is the same as the BTMS. I never used it before so I didn't know, when I looked at the jar it listed cetyl as an ingredient:tongue2: . I feel dumb now! Thanks for the reply though! CareBear
actually they are not really the same. I made my bath melts with BTMS instead of cetyl alcohol and found they did not melt in the tub like I wanted them to. they got soft but did not dissolve till I mushed them with my hand.but I only tried it once so perhaps I did something else by mistake.
