  1. *UPDATE I accidently forgot the stearic in the last batch I poured and there was just NO getting these suckers out of the molds. I finally had to take a heat gun to them and start over. I also noticed alot more bubbles, though I can't imagine how the 2 would be related...
  2. Performs great once you get the wicking right If you still have a few strands of hair left after you have finally nailed it, all is good in the world.
  3. I used stearic and UV. Don't get me wrong, I would NEVER suggest not doing any relief at all. I still do to make absolutely sure that there is no air trapped, it is just much less vigorous a task with this wax. Definitely do some testing and you will see what I mean.
  4. No, they slid RIGHT out of the molds, and I only noticed a couple bubbles coming up to the surface while cooling. Sooooooo.... for testing, I did the relief "circle plunges" on one and nothing on another. When I dissected them both open this morning, I had zero air pockets in either of them. I poured at 200 and am using aluminum molds- I heated 2 and didnt heat the other 2, both came out with gorgeous crystal patterns. The leftover wax in my glass pouring pot even has a great pattern I have to say I am extremely pleased with this wax and at a great price as well! I would definitely recommend.
  5. I received it, poured it, and it is in fact chock full of gorgeous feathering goodness!
  6. I haven't tried it yet, but when I called to ask they told me that it was feather. I just ordered some, we'll see!
  7. So glad you posted this. I had planned on placing a big order Friday when the sale starts! I think I'll stick with what I know
  8. I use .5- 1%. Just enought to help keep oils from going rancid.
  9. Hubby uses the bar (gotta love the mysterious hairs that get stuck in it with this method), I use a pouf. I only use a washcloth to rinse my face off at the sink after washing.
  10. What a bummer, I was going to try them out this week. $150 is ridiculous and the fact that they change their policy every week "due to popular demand" is really annoying. Yes, there is always the co-op option, but frankly I personally don't like the fact that we are forced to go that route. By the time you pay shipping and fees to the hostess, you could have just bought elsewhere. Not to mention the time it takes to do the co-op. What happens when we are in a pinch later, have a large order and need a pound of oil now?
  11. That's why I told you to search those particular terms, I hope you didnt take it to mean "hey lazy, search for it yourself"! :smiley2: I have found so many places with neat packaging by searching bakery and candy (not to mention they were much less in cost) that I didnt even know where to begin with a list!
  12. You can up the ewax or BTMS a bit to thicken it up. If you are already at a high percentage where adding more would make it draggy, you can buy xanthan gum from a health food store- it is an awesome thickener for lotions and butters and has a nice feel. In my opinion, cornstarch makes it feel too "chalky".
  13. I have never used anything like this, but I guess I missed the part where you PAY for this service. I was under the impression that you just sent in samples of your product. I give away NUMEROUS samples for promotion, which is exactly what this is. Regardless, are you aware that most candle/soap suppliers also run candle/soap businesses? Is this a conflict of interest? I suppose I look at it the same as if someone who were hosting and promoting a vending event where you pay fees for a space and they were also selling at this event themselves. They are promoting themselves along with everyone else in attendance no?
  14. I don't understand why it should matter to you even if she were using it to promote her own business? Why in the world should she need to share that she also owns a candle business? Does it effect you in any way? This service is an advertising tool, and the whole point of contributing is to get your stuff out there to as many people as possible. This is what is being done, and she is taking the time to blog about and promote YOUR items as well. Unless you are threatened that her products may be better than yours, I fail to see what her motivation for running the company has to do with anything. Who doesn't want to promote their company? The way I see it, she gets to do this along with promoting others- more power to her! The fact that she is in every box doesn't hurt your business in any way.
  15. You can find that type of packaging by searching bakery or candy packaging
