rainey
Has anyone used the 4 or 6 oz. tins with the clear lids for their soy candles? The plastic on these lids are made from acrylic. I know that polyethylene will rob your soy candle of its fragrance, but I don't know if acrylic will. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks! topofmurrayhill
I feel we really don't need to wring our hands so much over every drop of scent. Some candles are naked like pillars and others are made in containers without covers. Light them after months and they still throw a strong scent. The plastic won't particularly "rob" the scent - it's not even in contact with the wax. The clear lids are certainly more porous than the solid metal lids, but the container is still covered and I think it's fine. I'm designing a product with these containers and I have no worries.Candles are about a balance of aesthetics, not just aroma. If I have to sacrifice a drop and a half of FO to make a much more attractive candle, that is more than worthwhile.
ChrisR
I've used these tins for over 2 years and have no problems with them eating the scent!
