fabulousfunfur
I usually make Soap but Ii want to make some candles for Christmas. I have a quick question!I bought a 2 Lbs. container of 'superior quality container wax' I bought at Michael's Craft store. It is called 'Creme'....a creamy wax. I don't know what it is made of........It says I can add scent and dye, but how do I know how much fragrance oil to put in. I want to make a few different scents with this 2 lb container. Is there a rule.......so many ounces of fragrance per so many ounces of wax? Please help! SatinDucky
The general rule is 1 oz FO pp wax....
Candle Man
Some waxes will hold up to 1.5oz/LB of wax. If the wax does not give you any info of what it is or the fragrance load % then as stated above 1oz/LB would be an average guideline. That is if you have good quality scent. If the scent is a weak or poor quality even 1.5oz may not be strong enough but that is the max of scent per LB of wax. Also that wax may or may not give a good cold or hot throw even if you use good quality scent.IMO - It's best to use a wax you can get info on plus it will be cheaper in price than craft store wax.
