  1. Thanks to everyone who made posts about this soap. I appreciate it. It smells so wonderful and I am planning on working on another........who knows!
  2. Why do you need citric acid in this recipe? What does it do?
  3. Thanks girls! It's just a powdered colorant, I get from my supplier. I ask for a colour, she gets it for me. (She's local) The red is 'brick red' she tells me. Actually I just asked her the brand and she's getting back to me. This is the first layer soap I made. I loved Brenda's so much. Doubt I'll make it again. A little too much work for me!
  4. Your soaps are always amazing, I have no doubt it'll be another perfect soap! Beautiful colours! I always have trouble swirling throughout the entire soap. It usually just swirls on the top!
  5. This is a watermelon-kiwi layer soap with poppy seeds!!!! MMMMM It smells yummy!
  6. I looked on Ebay, at the bags, but the plain canvas bags look so 'cheap'. Some of the bigger companies charge set up fees. I saw a nice 'cruise tote bag' on the one site that was suggested but it had a $55.00 set up charge......! I was hoping to find someone who made handmade bags. I like to help out small business owners like us whenever possible! Someone on Ebay makes the cutest bags, but I'm not sure how to encorporate my logo into it. I emailed her but haven't heard back yet. This is the bag I thought was cute, but maybe in a different pattern. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8261927156&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 I could always sew in a 'plastic photo insert' and slip in a cardstock paper with my logo on it or something...........
  7. Does anyone know where I could get a totebag/bag personalized, or even a handmade bag with a photo insert? Anyone make these or know anyone who does? I think this would be a great way to advertize your business, and possibly get questions from people who see you with it............
  8. I always get those emails also. Stating someone adding an email address to my account, if I authorized it, click the link below............ NEVER DO THIS! If you have any questions, go to the paypal website and log in. Never reply......................! They try to get you any way they can because people are vulnerable!
  9. I've been asked to do a 'home party' for my soaps at someone's home. I wouldn't even know where to begin! I was never good at public speaking! Would I start with why handmade soap is better than 'department store' beauty bars, and about the ingredients.......... The benefits of each of the ingredients.....the types of soaps I offer, etc. What else could I possibly say!?? If I made invitations what should I say to convince people to come!:undecided
  10. Thankyou to everyone! I definately will take your ideas into consideration. Thankyou for the research on the plants etc. of Panama. I think hemp string would be a great idea. I do want to add hemp to the bar, so that would be great! A few twigs added is a great idea too. The idea of the tree mail is cool! Thank you so much guys! :highfive:
  11. Vanilla Maple Pecan, my goodness..........Sounds good enough to eat. I love food type smells. Cake scents, bakery types.......they don't sell wonderfully........but I find Vanilla does. People seem to really love Patchouli. People are hippies at heart I'm telling you! I sell out so quick with Patchouli! I'm taking all the soaps into consideration. Will let you all know...........:highfive:
  12. I got a soap order for a Survivor Finale Party.......Yes it's weeeeks away. The lady who wants the soap said, "it kind of goes with the whole...haven't washed in 36 days" theme. I was wondering: 1. What kind of soap to make 2. How to make a cool label. I was thinking of making labels with paper that is tea-bagged and burnt at the edges kind of like a treasure map would look, then wrapped with raffia. Any other ideas? Wording to put on the labels? Anything???
  13. Where are these scents from? Sorry I didn't see where it said.........
  14. I am going to place an order with Lone Star. Anybody have any fragrances you have bought there that you would say are amazing? A must have? I am ordering Warm Embrace. Anybody tried it? Thanks!
  15. DaniedB.........You said it! I think only people like us understand that when you make CP type soap, and other home made products with no wish-washy ingredients, you are getting high quality products. It's so easy to pick up a bar of .97 cent soap at Wally World clean your body. They think who in their right mind would pay $4.00 for one bar of soap! Well at big places like.......Body Shop and LUSH you pay wayyyyyy more for one bar of soap! At lush the bars of soap are over $6.00 for 3.5 oz. Their ginger soap is $9.50 for a 3.5 oz bar and I believe it is not CP soap. Just melt and pour (no offence to the melt and pourers out there) Anyways, I could go on!
  16. I received some bath melts from another message board user that was absolutely amazing. The scent was TO DIE FOR, and the scent stayed on your skin all day! I'm not sure if it was the % of FO she used or just that particular FO in general. I want to purchase this FO to make soap with it, but she is just unsure exactly which one it was. It was buttery, sugary and sooooooooo yummy. I wanted to eat it....or just one lick anyways........haha
  17. Yep! Just like any stores that say up to 90% off. But really it means one item in the store is 90% off so you think WOW! That's awesome. They catch you, and you come in to look and you're like........uh nothing is 90% off......but that one item. Which someone already bought. Same thing here........It's name is OLIVE OIL SOAP. You buy because it must be good if it's olive oil soap, and really it's one small portion of an ingredient in a list of unreadable ingredients! I have a soap I make, which I call Olive Oil. It is 90% Olive Oil, 10% Castor! Now that you can call Olive Oil!
  18. This is the "OLIVE OIL SOAP" from a huge company, everyone knows.......I don't think I can say it, when I'm putting it down! HAHA....... It's in all the malls..........uh....got it yet? Notice Olive Oil is the 7th ingredient! Even after Fragrance! Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Water, Glycerin, Fragrance, Sodium Chloride, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Amyl Cinnamal, Hexyl Cinnamal, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Citral, Citronellol, Limonene, 3-Methyl-4-(2,6,6- trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-yl)-3-buten-2-one, Geraniol, Iron Oxides, Chromium Oxide Greens. I'm telling you ladies, and gents.......making your own soap is sooooo much better! And way more natural!
  19. I have been asked to make a Hemp seed oil lipbalm, similar to a 'certain well known company' and I am not sure what these ingredients are! Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Panthenol, Clary (Salvia Sclarea) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopherol. Q. I've heard of Panthenol, but why do you need it in a lip balm and is it necessary? Q. Can I omit the Candelilla wax and just use beeswax?? Please help! :highfive:
  20. I love an all olive oil soap too. I do make mine with 90% olive oil, and 10% castor and it works great. I don't add any colorants/fragrances. I just made a batch of it last night! Good job on 100% olive oil. I wasn't sure how that would work, because I haven't tried it.
  21. I am looking for Bitter Creek 'Warm Vanilla Sugar'............. What do the others smell like??? Is it real yummy and buttery smelling?
  22. Real cute. I bet it smells good. I've heard Pink Sugar smells to die for. Nice label too!!!!!!!!!
  23. Okay so it's named, and thankyou to everyone who helped out! I did use the word healing in the explanation of the product on the label, although, I'm not sure about the legal standards here in Canada. But this item is not for 'sale'. Just for family and gifts etc. so I figured it wasn't a problem. I totally took the ideas and came up with this: Natural Hemp Herbal relief Ingredients to keep skin healthy and promote healing For endless uses!! THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR HELP :highfive:
  24. I really appreciate everyones input and help. I will let you know how it does. Plus will post pictures on the gallery when I'm done. Thanks everyone........:highfive:
