candleessence
Hi everyone! This is a new jar & new wax for me, I usually do containers w/ palm & apoths. This burns very different so I need some opinions please. This is a pint mason jar, burning approx 3 hours. Everything seems fine except that to me the flame height seems a little small. It does flucuate & really only hits this size once it gets a full melt pool. What do ya'll think? I have tried wicking up one (HTP 83-93 and then 104) but jar gets way too sooty & wick smokes. Hope this picture comes out right-if at all:Dcandletech.bmp
Fire and Ice
You didn't say what kind of wax you were using. How high up the jar was it filled?

joyofsoycandle
I thought she said that she usually uses palm and apoths. :smiley2: so what type of wax is being used in that jar now?
Fire and Ice
Amy- she mentioned she was using Palm wax hon. Thanks Terri! But she mentioned that this was a new wax and I wondered if it was soy, parrifin or a blend. It looks like soy:yes: . candleessence
Ooops, I'm sorry . Im using J300 mixes w/ 2% 138 straight paraffin. I fill the jar up to the start of the neck (right before the lid part starts) This is around the 3rd testing burn with the wick trimmed to 1/4" before each burn. Fire and Ice
It looks like a nice clean burn but test the whole jar.! The flame is slightly small but nothing I'd worry about unless it gets smaller.
