Donita
Yesteday I poured a bunch of rustics. Half were in tin and half were in aluminum.....unmolded them today and they look different. I like the tin molds.....they have a very nice finish....smooth but the aluminum are different. I am pouring them all in tin today to see what happens....does this happen to any of you? I have read posts of people having a hard time with rustics.....these are rustic, but not as pretty, to me, as the ones poured in tin.??????????? Maybe people who are having trouble are using the aluminum. Donita
SatinDucky
I always thought rustic would be easier in aluminum, since tin makes a shiny surface and rustics aren't suposed to shine. Maybe I'm on the wrong track...lol
Margaritamama
I cannot get rustics in my tin molds - have to use the aluminum. The tin ones give me a very shiny finish, without much frosting. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong
Donita
This is stupid. That's what I thought.....but now maybe the weather is changing my stupid stupid stupid or did I say stupid wax....LOL.....I am learning that I just can't count on it. The candles look nice anyway....Donita
Alohagirl
Donita, did you by any chance use less FO than you normally use? I ask because I get rustics with thin, smooth, shiny frost if I use only 1/2 ounce pp FO. If I use a full ounce of FO, they come out non-shiny with a thicker frost like everyone else's. (BTW, all my molds are seamless aluminum.)

Tanya
I've gotten rustics in tins by changing the temp of the wax poured. The only difference is the smooth finish on the outside but still are rustic looking.
