Toni S.
For those of you that make the rustic candles, what would you recommend as far as the best wax to use? I've been in candlemaking for a long time and I've never attemped any of these myself. Read up alot on them but was curious and would like to gain some first hand knowledge on these beauties. Also if you have any little "tricks of the trade" for this wax.Appreciate the input.
Oceangazer1
A quality straight paraffin over 130*mp works for me. I like the mottled look with the rustics so I don't use a pre-blended paraffin with additives. hth's
Donita
I use a straight paraffin (no additives) but I do add stearic acid. About 3% works well for me. I also use UV inhibitors in all of my candles so they don't fade. Some colors fade more quickly than others. Donita
Bailey
I use IGI 1343 with stearic
Fern
I use 4045 with stearic. Actually, any straight paraffin will make good rustics...just remember to pour cool, like around 150 degrees. You can pour a little hotter, but that's the temp I pour at and get very good results.
SatinDucky
I must be the only one who used 4625...lol. Course I don't aim for frosting either
