Rae
I use 1274 with 1/2 oz/pp FO. I heat to 185-190, add dye, FO and 1t/pp SA.Sometimes I get a cake like film on the candle and you can see where someof it is still in the mold after removing it. I don't think it's the FO because I did a lot testing colors and didn't use FO. Any idea what causes this?TIA
eugenia
I think that you are referring to the stearic, it creates frost lines on the candle.
Rae
Thanks, Eugenia! I used to only use 1/2t per pound and just started with1t per pound. Thanks for your reply.
kalamazoo
I use a straight paraffin wax and use up to 3TBS Stearic per pound of wax. I do rustic layers and get a good frosting effect, but if I pour too cold (64°c), then I can get some of the frosting staying in the mould when I remove the candle. Try varying your pour temps and see what happens.:smiley2:
eugenia
Try pouring at 150 and DO NOT chill the molds. Hopefully, the frost will stay on the candle and not the mold.e
