bells4shells
Okay, I've read and read and read online that if you get bubbles in your melt and pour, to spray with rubbing alcohol to get rid of bubbles. Well, i've done that and it messed up my nice swirls I had going on. Anyone have tips on how to keep the bubbles at bay while still being able to keep some kind of color difference in the soap? Thanks!
Michi
Stir gently, so as not to incorporate too much air. When you spray the alcohol are you using a mister sprayer? I use that and just lightly go over the top of the soap where there are bubbles.Sometimes if I get bubbles IN the soap, I'll take a skewer and gently try and pop them. Maybe try that if you don't want to use the alcohol.
bells4shells
Thanks Michi I think my sprayer is no good. I went el-cheapo on one and I'm paying the price it seems. I'll try to find a fine mist sprayer.
Pepperi
Another easy method if you don't want to spray your soap with alcohol, just wait until a thin skin forms on the soap and remove it gently.
brydean
When I did melt and pour, I found an empty trial size hairspray bottle worked best. I just bought one of the little non-aresol trial bottles emptied it out and washed it real well. It gives off the fine mist you need. Pam W
Another easy method if you don't want to spray your soap with alcohol, just wait until a thin skin forms on the soap and remove it gently.that works and so does laying a piece of paper towel over the poured soap for just a second or two - it will soak up a tiny bit of the product but takes the air bubbles with it. CareBear
I use a little spritzer bottle that I bought for body mists.

Pam W
Thatis a great idea pam!Or you could use a piece of cheese cloth then let that dry, cut it into small pieces, throw it in a small tin and into the purse -- disposable soap swatches on the go:cheesy2: ...it's been a long week, can ya tell?? katieprov19
I keep messing up the color on mine too. I think my spray bottle is a direct stream. I'll have to try the paper towel trick. Thanks!
