Laura L
I have five cases of bad Joy Wax(cosmetically bad) that have been sitting in my basement for quite sometime. I have read quite a bit on this board about the wickless candles. Should I buy some tins and make some wickless candles? Is it really that easy? Just melt, mix fo and pour? How well do they sell? What is the best type of tin to use? Any advice?Laura
kandlekrazy
It's really that easy, and clamshell are just as easy and less expensive if you're just trying to use that wax. I've never used Joy wax, but I just started blending 415 and P1 to make clamshells (so they pop out real easy.)Have you tried blending it with anything to see if it would work in containers? I personally like the round 4 oz and 6 oz for wickless as they fit really nicely on the warmers. They sell really well for me.
logcabinmomma
I don't know if straight Joy will do a clamshell- it's pretty soft and the customer would have to be able to get it out of the packaging. It would be fine in a tin though!-Kristi
Laura L
I thought a tin would be good too. The wax isn't very pretty once it has set up, lots of frosting and cracking, so the tin would hide that. It smells just fine though. Now, I just need to research where to buy tins! logcabinmomma
I get mine from Aztec- they're not very far from me, but shipping isn't ever that bad on tins. They have great prices on them!-Kristi
Laura L
Thanks, I will look into Aztec. I was on last night looking at Specialty Bottle and they had a good selection. I am going to Aztec now!Laura
