  1. I have had very good luck with NG's FO's. Some of my best selling.... Spa French Market Gingerbread Christmas Wassail Apple Jack and Peel Pumpkin Crunch Cake Hot Orange Danish Fresh Linen Downey Clean Breeze
  2. I think it just might be pouring to cool. I had a batch I poured a little hotter the other night, when I checked them this morning there were hardly any dark lines in them. I will pour hotter again today and see what happens. It is truly amazing that all of these little things make a difference in the outcome of the candle! Laura
  3. I have been getting darker wavy lines in some of my candles....the line just looks like a darker shade of the color I am using to dye the candle. It is maybe 1/3 of an inch wide. It is never staight, always just a wave of sorts. I have pictures but I can't post. It has been appearing on a good share of the candles I have been making. I am using J223 with crisco. Jars are washed prior to and heated before pouring. Maybe I am pouring to cool.....145-150 degrees? Stumped! Laura
  4. Thanks everyone for your responses. I have probably 3-4 dozen 16 ounce candles to melt (alot of work to salvage a .40 cent jar!) so I will probably try to warm them in the oven right side up and see where that gets me. In case your wondering how I could possible have that many bad candles....had some bad wax that I kept trying to play with and fix. Thanks again for the tips, I appreciate it. Laura
  5. Does anyone have any slick tips on how to remove the wax out of full candle jars? My supplier is out of jars and I have a bunch of bad candles that I have been hanging onto forever so I thought I would use those jars to make my new candles. It seems like it might be a messy pain to get the wax out but I have orders to fill and don't won't to wait three weeks for my supplier to get their shipment in. Thanks- Laura
  6. I have had one scent do this to me time after time, Blueberry Muffins. I had to cut back on the amount I used. I went from 1.5 ounces per pound down to 1 ounce per pound and never had a problem since. Laura
  7. I am testing a 8 ounce metro right now with J223 and a 51-32-18 zinc. You didn't mention zinc but I thought I would throw in my two cents since it is burning really nice. Good Luck! Laura
  8. Looks like a mayo jar to me. I see jars similar to this at Infinity Packaging. Laura
  9. Thanks, I will look into Aztec. I was on last night looking at Specialty Bottle and they had a good selection. I am going to Aztec now! Laura
  10. I thought a tin would be good too. The wax isn't very pretty once it has set up, lots of frosting and cracking, so the tin would hide that. It smells just fine though. Now, I just need to research where to buy tins!
  11. Harvest from BCN is my very best seller year round. Around the Holidays I color it burgundy instead of deep orange and rename it "Home for the Holidays". It really is a wonderful spicey cinnamon scent. Laura
  12. Yes, I was thinking of maybe trying a different supplier. Thanks, that is a good tip. I was testing another one today in a candle with 1.5 ounce per pound of a strong fo and alot of dye and it seemed to be doing fine. Weird! Maybe some duds like you said. Laura
  13. I have five cases of bad Joy Wax(cosmetically bad) that have been sitting in my basement for quite sometime. I have read quite a bit on this board about the wickless candles. Should I buy some tins and make some wickless candles? Is it really that easy? Just melt, mix fo and pour? How well do they sell? What is the best type of tin to use? Any advice? Laura
  14. I am all hung up on a even steady flame and feel like I have failed because my wick flickers even though all the other aspects of the candle are working. Oh, I think I just need to lighten up. My customers have never commented on my flickery flame? OK, that sounds weird. I like the zinc wick the best so I don't know...is a flicker good or bad??? Technically I think it is suppose to be bad. :undecided
  15. I use wick stickums from BCN. After I stick the wick to the jar I push down around the wick tab with some chopsticks to make sure it is good and stuck. Laura
