cybersix
Hi all, not sure this is the right place for this question... I'm looking for a sealer to seal my PVC shrink wrap sleeves. I found one and the description says it's for polyethilene. I searched for PVC and it's the same thing of polyethilene. It changes only one atom of its compostion, instead of being hydrogen ths inly atom is chlorine. The seller doesn't help, but in my mind I think it can work. What do you think? Jadryga
Hmm... it COULD, but I'd be slightly wary, especially with things like melting plastic. If you change one atom off water, you can get hydrogen peroxide, which is a whole different ballgame. Best to make sure.
cybersix
thank you very much, I know an atom can be a difference but in this case it's always a plastic material. I guess it depends more on what temp the two materials liquify and seal.. but this sealer costs about $70 and I don't know how can I be sure if it works! barncat
My sealer seals at around 200-250 degrees if that helps you any....
Vicky_CO
I don't think the type of bag is a biggy. I use mine for all type of bagging and have never had a problem. I seal cello, Polypro, PVC anda few other types I have stashed in my closet. This is the one I use. http://www.packcoinc.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=
