kw2703 Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Hello,I am new to making candles and have a couple wick questions. I am going to be using 18 oz. jars for gifts for family/friends. I ordered HTP 105 pre-tabbed wicks from Green Leaf. It states that the bottom of the jar is 2.75", but the jar is 4.25" at its widest point. How do I determine what size wicks to get? The HTP 105 says that they are for 2.5-3" for soy waxes and 3.5-3.75" for other waxes. My question is: Did I order the correct size wick? Do I order according to the measurement at the bottom of the jar or at its widest point? Can anyone recommend what type of wicks are best for palm wax? Thank you for any help! Quote
Candybee Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 What jar is it? It sounds like it may be a honey pot? If so you might have to double wick your jar to get a good burn and melt pool. Quote
kw2703 Posted July 6, 2007 Author Posted July 6, 2007 I forgot to mention, I will be double wicking also. It's called a bean bot jar, but very similar to a honey pot. Quote
