AnjieBurdett
Hi there, I have just ordered some Palm Stearic for use in paraffin and it's got a different texture to the stearic I usually use, and its got a strange smell. Is this usual? Have I ordered the wrong thing or is this good in paraffin?Anjie,x.
topofmurrayhill
Most of the stearic I've seen is medium to fine flakes but I've bought it in other forms too, so the texture isn't necessarily a problem. I can't smell your stearic so it's hard to address that, but the odor can vary too. Generally I've found the animal-derived stearic to have more odor than palm stearic. cybersix
I use vegetable stearic in paraffin and it's the same of the animal fat stearic, mine is in little pearls now but once I got a bag and it was flakes.
