Insurance needed for candles we give away?

Do we need any type of insurance while we are making candles but not yet selling them? How about if we just make them for family and friends but do not sell them?

With the other thread up there that you mentioned, I'd go ahead and get it, so you're covered, no matter what.

Personally I don't feel it's necessary if they're just for gifts. That would be like needing to have insurance to give away the cookies and brownies you baked (which they could have gotten sick after eating).

Well yes, if she's selling lotion and getting insurance for that, she might as well include the candles under the coverage. But when I read the other thread, it gave me the impression the lotion is still in the planning stage, and if she has candles ready today to give away, there's no need to obtain insurance first.

Personally I had insurance before I even started making candles and if you are giving them away, you should have it in place already. It doesn't matter if you give them away or sell them, something could happen and you need to be covered for your candles and lotion.
