mandalinn
I did a batch with Dark Chocolate FO from BB last night, swirled it with a cocoa powder swirl. It looks nice, like cake with a chocolate frosting, but the fragrance is horrible!! Never again will I use this oil. Blech! If I rebatched it, can I use another fragrance oil or should I just toss it? Thanks!!

Rebecca_IA
Carmen is right, give this a few more days to weeks. You'll be surprised to find out how many FO's morph in CP saponification, but in a few days to weeks to months, it changes to something that smells great. For personal use, I'd wait a few months, business, I think a few weeks is long enough and if it doesn't change back by then, don't use it again and fix that batch up by rebatching it.IME, rebatching doesn't completely get rid of the scent, but it does burn a lot of it off so adding something will cover up the other one. I'd wait until the soap was almost all the way melted and see what it smells like then, and try to use an FO that was complementary to the FO scent left, if that is possible. sudsnwicks
Yes, I'd wait a while to see if the scent mellows out during curing. If you still don't like it then, you could rebatch it with an unscented batch to help lessen the smell, and maybe add a complementary scent like peppermint to help mask it.
