OK...here's her new reply:

Wow, thanks for insulting me, Cybelesays.com and our readers. I didn't think this email correspondence would take such a negative turn. We are not "neophytes" nor do we have a "fledgling" newsletter. We do know what we are doing and have been doing it since 2001 and I don't think our readers would come back month after month if we didn't rock. We do have funding (not huge) but I chose to spend it elsewhere like paying my contributing writers for their hard work.

And as far as beauty editors purchasing products?? I used to be a beauty editor at a medium sized beauty magazine and we did not have to purchase products (about 90% of the time). Maybe the one person you claim to know below runs their magazine like that. I can't say for sure.

Don't worry, I will not be contacting you in the future should we change our policy.

All our love,

~Cybele

Now what do you have to say Indescent?? LOL

Aaaahhh and the hits keep churning out:

Cybele,

I am greatly distressed (BAAA HAAA yeah right, I'm laughing at you with the rest of my friends) that you were insulted by my last email. It was to assist you in perhaps finding a less "assuming" approach to your review system. As business owners, we must learn to accept constructive criticism.

I commend you on the success you claim to have with Cybelesays.com. I was not suggesting that you take a capricious turn to your company. In your years as a beauty editor for the medium sized magazine, surely you can appreciate not alienating sponsors and vendors. But just because you did something "long" doesn't mean you've done it "right". For example, I didn't claim to know Dianne and Mikki. However, their information is readily available to those who would like to contact them. You should check it out-- www.essence.com. Essence has been a top beauty and fashion magazine since the seventies and have totally revamped their style for their readers in an online format. If you will notice, there are no cut and paste pictures of copyrighted images, oversized fonts and offending colors. Moreover, what "big" funding Essence does have, like other legitimate magazines with beauty editors, goes to pay their salaries and also for expenses-- to include, but is not limited to, obtaining products to review. I can guarantee you they don't solicit and try to double talk vendors out of their product. Sure, some products may have been gifted, but I doubt they sent after the receipt of an email of your caliber.

Again this is not to offend you, but more or less an attempt for me to gain some understanding of your process. Where are the products made by business like my own? They are grouped together with no attempt to recognize their individuality and after all of the bigger cosmetic companies. You mean to tell me that you solicited Sephora, Stila, Dianne Brill, and Back to Basics for full sized product to appear on your site that is not heavily advertised and they complied? Or is it these are products that you already owned or picked up at the store? It is very easy to see, as with most entrepreneurs, most businesses start off as hobbies. What differetiates the two is the elimination of the hobby mentality. If you want to be a business, you need to start, talk and act like a business.

I do strongly encourage you to check out what your competition is doing and do it better. I am glad that Cybelesays.com will not be contacting my business again. It would be a waste of both of our time, with me picking up the tab.

GGAAWWWD-- Why does everyone think I'm so offensive!?

LOL Those who are offended often aren't offended enough I say! I'll tell ya, this third party arguing thing has its perks!
