VictoriaK
I got a couple slabs of this wax a few days ago and decided to finally give it a try. I love the color hold(for fig melon) and the mottling looks great, but its sweating out some of the oil. I did a small batch of 5oz with between 1/8 to 1/4oz of the FO which in my opinion doesn't seem like much as it is a rough estimate from using my usual 1/5oz per pound of wax. Am I calculating wrong tonight, or is this just a more sensitive wax??? Thanks everyone,Victoria
topofmurrayhill
Is that a tealight? It's supposed to sweat some. Mottling and fragrance bleed go hand in hand. You'll generally get some droplets from the repour layer but those will dry up.You would generally use 3 to 6 percent fragrance with this wax, depending on the compatibility of the fragrance, so you're in the right ballpark. It's not that it's more sensitive, but it's plain paraffin and doesn't have any additives to make it hold extra FO. VictoriaK
Thanks Top, should have known you would have the answer:D. And yeah, it is a tealight, just looks kinda massive from the closeup shot.
silverm00n
Forgive the resurrection, but I came across this wax while researching. Is this the same one:http://www.candlechem.com/shop/?shop=1&cat=2&cart=94671Wouldn't the 1% vybar eliminate mottling and help hold FO?
