izzy2
The scales I have will weigh in either gms or oz. I'm not sure if different scales weigh the oz differently (i.e. 1.25 oz or 1 1/4 oz) but mine weigh in fractions. If you have a number of say, 0.83 oz of FO (again this is just an example) how would you measure this, change to fraction or would you just convert this to gms and go by the gms number? Hope someone can understand my mumble jumble and help me out. TIA
topofmurrayhill
To me it seems easier to do it all in grams vs. converting between decimal and fractional ounces. Multiply your ounces by 28.35 to get grams.I don't think I've ever seen a scale that displays fractional ounces. I figure for grams it probably weighs in something larger than single gram increments, so you might have to round off a bit.
izzy2
Thanks Top! I figured it would be easier to convert to gms rather than try to figure it out close to a fractional oz.
Georgia
I would find it easier to buy a new scale.
SevenHillsCandle
Ohaus JR 300 Ruby and Ohaus CS 2500 are what we use. Both work great.
