IndyGirl
I'm trying to decide on a type of glass for my container candles. I really don't want to use mason or jelly jars. I like the look and price of the hourglass jars but they do not have a cap or lid. I just want something more elegant for my contaners! How would you cover these open jars so that they look nice? Henryk
Those look like Libbey Interlude jars - and if so you can get lids for them at many places (they are standard Libbey lids) - for the sizes and part numbers you can get the catalogue here: http://www.libbey.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=67&Itemid=99HTH
IndyGirl
Actually they were Anchor Hocking Hourglass..........but they are the same! You can't seem to order direct from Libby to get the glass and the lids.........any ideas where to get this glass at a good price? I have searched and searched. Good glass is hard to get! The Anchor Hocking was listed at $1.14 each without a lid.
Henryk
Early American Candle Supplies has them. They are an east coast distributer for Libbey and AH.
IndyGirl
Ok Early American does not have them listed under libbey glass. So, I just got back from Wal-Mart and looked at the way others have covered the open candle glass, 1) A clear plastic disc that has a hole for the wick to come thru that sits right on top of the wax2) A clear label seal across the top of the jar3) A plastic cap just like the plastic used in the first description that goes on tip of the jar with a slight lip.4) Then later I found that glade is using something like a top on a fountain drink.......like McDonalds that sits on top!Where oh where can you find such things???? Henryk
Trust me, EA is a huge place - and does have them - they have so much stuff that is not on their website. I would just give them a call if you are interested in the glass ones.HTH
barbaranj
http://www.tayloredconcepts.com/accessories.htmIndyGirl,Scroll down to the bottom of this link and you will see adhesive seals in two different sizes. With some luck maybe one will work for you.
mindy5140
On EA's site the hourglass containers are under Anchor Hocking and they only come in the 8oz ones with no lids. Mindy
Henryk
Again, EA does have them - and they have ALL the sizes. The ones I posted came from there - including the lids. They also even have a 4 ounce version.

I actually have been there personally and their store is nice and they have a variety of containers.Mindy
Henryk
Ooops sorry - didn't mean for you to take it that way. If you've been there you know how much glassware they have - its a shame they don't have it all on their site for people who don't know.:highfive:
mindy5140
Next time I'm there I'll have to ask them why they don't put all of their containers on their website, to me they might be losing sales because of it.It's a good point though. I hope she finds what she is looking for.Mindy
