Bunny Posted October 23, 2006 Share Posted October 23, 2006 A mitre box and a nice sized putty knife is how I started for the same thickness every time!You're going to have to experiment with the cut to get it to be 4 oz. Then measure it, then mark a spot on the mitre box where you want to push the soap to before you cut. Cut it, slide the log up to the mark, and cut again.. Lather rinse and repeat! maryann Posted October 23, 2006 Share Posted October 23, 2006 I can't use a miter box to save my LIFE! I use a ruler to measure out 1" slices and poke a small dot for each 1". Then go back with a soap cutter knife for $4-5 and try to cut as straight down as possible. If I'm off a little I just remind myself that it adds to the handmade part of the soap-LOL.
