mrs_scurry
Hi All, I am a newbie and I am looking over some really good posts in this area for bath and body. However, I am trying to find out more about the witch hazel distilled water recipe for room and linen sprays. I have been doing a lot of researching and I am finding out about cyclomethicone and FO and also the recipe mentioned above with WH. What is the better recipe between the 2?Which recipe holds a scent longer and louder? And where can I find information on how much to use of the ingredients? I also need a local supplier in my area but I can't find any doing my regular google searches and yellow pages. I know that I don't have any for candles and I wasn't sure if that would be the only place I could get these ingredients also. I don't know if I am looking under the wrong category or what. Can someone please help me with this? My mother is soon to get a new office at work and she wants it to smell good for her visitors, so I want to surprise her with a homemade room spray Also, hopefully, I can get some future business too Thanks for all your help!Veronica
Luverpup36
Here's a discussion we had a while back that is in the archives. I personally use the recipe with witch hazel, distilled water and F.O. I think the quality of your F.O. will play a big factor in the strength and how long it will last. hth!Brendahttp://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=bbrecipes;action=display;num=1089249520
macyboutique
I use both of the recipes and I like them both. They both can be use for either a room spray or a body spray as long as the fragrance oil is skin safe.I think the cyclo and fo last longer but as for louder it depends on the fo. Candle Junkie
Do most peaks fo's work with the cyclo.? If so which are best? I would like my spray also for automobiles. If it can work in the room and on linens, why not on upholstery.
SweetPatoot
jumping in with a quick question re the witch hazel spray, using as a body spray....can I add color? as long as it's a b&b safe colorant? (can you believe I hated chemistry in high school and college? jeez, I'm a mixing madwoman in my kitchen now...thanks to all of you...)Rebecca
hawaiiansun
I've been using the water , witch hazel and fo. It works great, smells great too, but someone told me that I need to add a preservative so I'm waiting for that to come in. Never tried the cyclo, it's on my wish list I've heard it's great
