I just received this as a sample in my order...and YUM! It's sweet, slightly spicy and almost fruity...just plain delicious.

I found a site with free downloadable handwritten fonts...but for the life of me I don't know how to download them so that I can use them in my printing program. (Picture It Publishing). I have an idea for my labels and really want a different font. Help. Could someone help a poor computer dummy? thanks, Rebeccca

thank you. I'm not planning on using lecithin, I think that's just what was used in the recipe. I was just interested in seeing if anyone had ever used such a "simple" recipe, just water, oil, emulsifier and preservative. I'm off to research emulsifiers and preservatives more. Just trying to play with an old, old recipe I found in my gram's cookbook. It's a "simple olive oil" recipe. I can't get it to work. I tried to tweak it a bit, adding preservative and all that up to date jumbo. Basically, it's equal parts olive oil and water with lecithin added. The lecithin for binding the water and oil together. I need help with percentages. I really suck at math. So, for ex. if I'm using 1/2 c water and 1/2 c oil, what percentage of a binding emulsfier do I need to add, and what percentage of preservative? I want to try and mimic some lip balm I bought, but I need to know percentages of ingredients... here's the ingredients: Olive Oil Beeswax Vitamin E Oil Flavoring I'm new to mixing my own lip balms and just need to know approx what amounts to add to make a firm lip balm. I'm so glad you did so well, and also glad you posted the way you felt, because that's exactly how I felt at the show I did Saturday, I was near two "natural" type of booths, by this I mean (and I certainly don't want to offend anyone at all but these two were loudmouthed and obnoxious ) they grew everything they used, everything was certified "organic", one woman made her own soaps and they were the BEST looking soaps I'd ever seen, but they both immediately made it clear that I wasn't "in their league" at all, because I use preservatives in my lotions and b&b items. Well, yeah, noone wants to be rubbing yummy little bacteria and germys into their skin with their lotions.... Anyway, I completely had that same feeling of wanting to cry and vomit at the same time. Long story short, people loved my lotions and I was constantly asked if I was a distributor for this company, I couldn't possibly have done this all myself. So congratulations, you obviously have wonderful stuff!!

At the college, hoping for lotsa sales! It's right in town, and a well known show, all the downtown shops open early as this is our areas "start to the holiday shopping season".... The coordinator said I was the only lotion/b&b person, she was hoping I wasn't selling jewelry as there were at least 10 vendors doing that already. (That's why I quit that gig awhile ago....) Let's see, there's about 50 tables, spread out over the college student center,so wish me luck! and good luck to everyone else doing shows this weekend!

Can I pour the base into a pan and slice em like you do with soaps? anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm confusing myself....

blagh...well that was a disappointment, made about 2x booth fee....relatively slow but steady traffic, but apparently there were at least 4 other shows within 5 miles. I was the only lotion maker, only one soaper, and NO candles whatsoever. I was repeatedly told how professional my table and items looked, and one lady asked me what I was doing at a "rinky dink" show when I should be down the street at the big show. There was NOONE selling lotions at the "big show" which was a two day show. However, I did make some wonderful contacts and met some great people. So, live and learn I suppose. I am thinking about gambling and paying $100 for a big two day show over Thanksgiving weekend, with over 3000 attending....what the heck, it's really only $50 a day..... Rebecca
