alyce sprinkle
When I make candles or tarts using mottling wax, I put 1 oz. FO per 1# of mottling wax.The end results is that I get seepage of FO. It seems that when my wax begins to mottle, it pushes out the FO. Am I using too much FO? I want my candles to smell good and strong; but the seepage is a pain. I have to pack my candles in a container with paper towel to absorb the excess FO.Any help would be appreciated greatlyAlyce
Vicky_CO
Well most mottling waxes only hold about 4% FO load so you either need to add something like vybar or cut your FO load back a bit. But if you add vybar you will loose the mottled look.
eugenia
You can add stearic or vybar 343, made for mottling waxes, to cut the seepage.

Candle Man
In IGI 1343 wax, without adding any mottle additives, you can add up to 3/4oz FO without seepage.
