silk fibre ?

I bought some of this and was wondering if anyone else has used this and what their results were? I think you are to add a cotton ball size amount but not sure on pp of oils this is? thanks to all in advance

I use silk in every batch. I have the tusseh (sp) and it is in a long strand a little fatter than a pencil. I use 1 inch for 2-3lbs of oils.

hello, I take just a pinch of them very small amount and add it to my lye water to dissolve. I think it makes the lather a little creamier, at least to me. I use it for some batches and not for other... honestly, I use it when I remember it.

I use it in every batch too. I add a nice size ball of it to the water before I add the lye. I love the feel of the lather with silk in it.

Makes it silky, LOL. Mine looks like hair. You can use the fabric too, as long as it's raw, a 1" square or so.

Not sure about the % but the point of adding to the lye is to dissolve it so, no, you don't have to.

Unless you are just trying to get rid of some hydrolyzed silk amino acid I would never use it in soap. It's way too expensive an ingredient for soap. Scent Works has bags of tussah silk fiber that is a cheapo ingredient. A 4oz bag will last you forever!
