georgiaII Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 What is the general consensus on when it is better to add FO - at a higher temperature or at a lower temperature? Would appreciate input very much. Quote
Crafty1_AJ Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 It depends on the wax. For pillar waxes, I pour hot so I must add my fo hot, usually at around 180-190 degrees F. For container waxes, I add my fo at about 170-175. I generally go by whatever the wax manufacturer recommends for the temps. HTH Quote
liljean Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I generally follow the instructions for each particular wax, however, I prefer to add my FO in right before I am ready to pour. I never had a problem with a weaker throw doing this. I have severe allergies so when I pour I wear a mask and the least exposure to the FO's for me, the better, ESP florals and cinnamons. Vanilla's I can add anytime and not wear a mask, and most bakery scents too. Quote
daniedb Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Hi Georgia! If you click on the search button along the top toolbar, and then type in "add FO temperature", you'll find a plethora of info! Quote
