how to store wax

Recommended Posts

I have those plastic drawers that I store my wax in and I leave it in the garage all summer. ( gets hot here in FL) I haven't had any problems at all other than the container wax does get soft but it doesn't melt or anything.

I house mine in a shed in the backyard. It fits two pallets perfectly.

In the summer it gets way hot and does mis-shape but it doesn't melt out of the boxes. My biggest problem is getting the slabs broken down because they all get stuck together........My container wax is stored under my counters inside my work room.

My candle work area is in my basement, and doesn't get too cold even in winter. I store my soy wax in empty 40 lb cat litter tubs. I cleaned them out real good first, to get out the residual litter dust. Two of those tubs holds about 45 lbs of soy flakes, and they stay tightly sealed.
