Yellow pages advertising

 I think it depends on what you are looking for. My husband is a self-employed carpet cleaner and he gets a lot of his jobs through the yellow pages. They are mega expensive if you want an ad with picture and all. He pays around $6000 for the year!!! Don't know the prices if you just want you name listed with no ad.

For candles, I think if you have a store, yellow pages are still an option. If you are doing all mail-order, then the internet is the way to go. Just my two cents...

I don't think it would be a wise investment, Judy. This lady I know sells gift baskets and such - and invested $1,000 in advertising in the local phone book. In the few months it's been there she hasn't received even one call from the ad!!

However, for only $25.00 a month it might not be a bad idea to try for maybe six months just to get your name out there. Who knows, your area might really respond!
