  1. Sandy, I haven't found it to be too profitable in my area. I think people going for yard sale items aren't looking for crafty items at larger prices. I personally prefer shows with just handmade items. However, November is a good month. If the price isn't too much, I'd say go for it! Lots of Christmas shoppers will be around in that month! - Meg
  2. Very neat! (Shall I continue to brag on you?!) The first layer, very nice. After the second layer - WOAH!
  3. Rachel is full of all kinds of useful info. I think putting "discontinue immediately if rash or irritation occurs" warning is very important on all products. That way, you can say it was THEIR fault for using it more if they saw a problem. I know people who use the same products over and over even if it breaks them out. Almost like it's a game to see if it will cause irritation this time around.
  4. Awesome color and scent combo! I would slather that on my skin right away.
  5. Beautiful, as always! I have to say, I always find myself scanning for pictures posted from you ... very inspirational and always FUN! Keep up the good work!
  6. I use the stand up black pouches from WSP with the windows. They're pretty nice - but I think I'll go with the clear ones (people love to see more of whats inside). It's a better selling point I believe if you add pretty colors and/or herbs of some sort. After seeing the clear ones in person I'm wanting to add them to my line!! Going to drop a look at Scent Works and try them out I believe. Those bags look very classy!
  7. I agree ... wrap once they purchase (although a simple cigar band or something would be good enough I believe). I've never seen candles wrapped up all pretty in cello at a show before ... most people want to open and sniff and open and sniff ... then open and sniff some more.
  8. Thats a slumber party I'd LOVE to visit!! Just awesome, great job!
  9. Sounds like you had a blast! Money-wise the one I've done wasn't the best ... but it was enjoyable! I may start doing more in different towns just to see how it goes though. Good job, and much good luck for the next one!
  10. I'm absolutely jealous! They're beautiful! Plus, your packaging REALLY makes them stand out!! How wonderful! I have some Moonlight Path FO here I've been wanting to use. I'm going to have to use those colors and make some now ... you're a BAD influence!! Have you ever tried selling that scent before? I'm still not sure I like it. Great job, as usual! - Meg
  11. Same as you, I was hoping that there would be a way you could actually WRITE on the tub with them. But, I doubt kid's would notice ... they usually have good imaginations. - Meg
  12. WSP may be more expensive on shipping (but having a father who works at UPS, I know it IS pricey), but I know I can always count on them to send my order super quick ... and to fix any problems that might arise. That alone gives them my business! Plus, the ladies that take orders over the phone are lovely! - Meg
  13. I do business with a lovely lady named Lesa ... PM me for her info. She's very very reasonable, and the ones I just ordered for the first time turned out so nice! Im slicing small samples of soap and putting them in today - I think they'll be a HUGE hit! I'm going to give them to future wholesale accounts to sample out the different scents ... and additionally some to pass along to customers that buy my stuff to keep them wanting more. Anyone is welcome to PM me for her info. I'd rather not post her personal email here as I do not yet have her permission - I will, however, email her to ensure she wouldn't mind (although I'm sure she'd love me raving about her work!). I know she does have a website in the works! I also got killer business cards from her at a killer price. I recommend Custom Matchbooks to everyone, they're so neat! - Meg
  14. I'm going to be starting to sell melts at shows this Fall, and I think it's very important to have the warmers available there too. A lot of people don't have those in their homes and like the smell of the melts and ask where they can buy them. Figured it would help business if I carried them myself!
  15. Personally I adore WSP. I don't use any of their lotion bases yet, but everything else I've gotten from them has always been nice. My favorite thing is how quick they are about orders - I know I can count on them, no matter what! - Meg
  16. I had so much trouble I've had to get a custom template made. Actually, this lady Pam (who makes soaps and such herself) makes all kinds of templates us soapers can use - especially for those hard to find ones! Just print out on the full sheet and cut via her template (which is designed to fit perfectly!). While I'd love to keep this to myself - I think everyone would benefit from using her services!! She has a great price ... and the amount of time I have saved since using her templates has been priceless. http://www.freiscavell.com/templates/ I don't get anything for it ... but I'd appreciate if you mentioned that Meg referred you - she's an awesome lady and I'm happy to help her business out when I can! I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me! - Meg
  17. Very, very nice! I will need to make some of these!! As far as safety, I'm sure there's no problem. People have been using them lately like crazy and I haven't heard of any negative results. Of course, the ones without additives are the ones you should buy. Again, beautiful!
  18. Glad you got it down pat now! But, I do highly suggest you try out WSP's clear base. When they say it's clear ... they mean it's clear! I've always had success with theirs, and it hasn't ever gotten "gooey" on me.
  19. I get some terrific Purple ones from MMS. (TheSage.com). They're beautiful, and I think they'll be a big hit at my next Craft Show!
  20. Awesome find! Thanks for posting that link!
  21. Sorry she's driving you insane! You try to be nice about it - but you may have to "get rough" in order to make her realize. I'd email her back and tell her that you find her jewelry to be very lovely, but having another jewelry maker there would cut business for everyone (including HER!). Too much of a good thing turns everyone off! I'd also make the comment that you have given your word to the other contributors that make jewelry that no others would be permitted. If you went back on your word you would lose their trust, and everyone involved would have a bad day at the show. Let us know how it goes! - Meg
  22. Terrific job!! That's a soap I'd totally buy!
