simply soy
I'm making some perfume creams and bought yellow rather than whitebeeswax. Not being familiar with beeswax. I noticed when I opened the packageof yellow beeswax, it has a slight odor. Does both yellow and white beeswax have a odor or just the yellow? And, will this effect the fragrance of my perfume cream?Lynn
sockmonkey
I've found that they both have odors, however the white beeswax was not as strong as the yellow. I got yellow from one source, and white from another, so I don't know if suppliers could play a role, or if it is as simple as white vs. yellow. elle110
I have been cleaning my own beeswax now for several months, and it has a distinct difference in smell than the processed bleached beeswax. I expected it to smell more like honey but it does not. I have a couple of fragrances that it tends to interfere with in lotion bars, on is Amazing Grace, just takes the GRACE out of it LOLI make solid perfumes and because it is such a small amount no interference. Also, just a note, if coloring lotion bars ( I use jojoba spheres) the yellow beeswax will interfere with the color. For example, if I try to make a blue one it turns more greenish. I think I am going back to the white w/my lotion bars due to they are my #1 seller and I cannot have any interferency in the end product but will use the yellow for other productsHTHElle
