Jane42
I just tried the IGI1274 for votives. They refused to come out of the mold, so I had to refrigerate, then "pound" them on the cement floor to get them to release! I got a nice "mottled" look, but they were greasy and messy. The next batch, I put less FO in, thinking that was my problem.....but I had the same problem getting them out of the molds, and almost no mottling....BUT less excess oil.I love the scent throw on these and would like to continue using it. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?I did a search on the forum, but did not see where anyone was having a problem removing them from the molds. Thanks! Scented
Try adding some steric to your mix. It helps absorb the oiliness.
topofmurrayhill
Add stearic as Scented suggested, at least 3%. You probably don't want to go over 6% FO with that wax and you could try less. They won't come out clean no matter what you do, so wipe them off and let them cure for a couple of days.As far as demolding, give them a little more time to settle down and then refrigerate for a while. One thing that helps a lot after refrigerating is to wrap the mold in the palm of your hand for a few seconds. The warmed mold expands away from the cold candle and helps release. Turning the mold round and round while gentle squeezing it helps release also.

Scented
Yeah you can get it basically anywhere. Something you might try is just putting in 1 T, see what it does. If still too slimy, add 2 T pp. There's a happy medium in there somewhere. The longer they sit the easier to release IMO.

Reese
Try Micheal's or a craft store that has candle supplies near you. I know micheal's carries small bags of additives.
