Will my scale still work?

Hello. I have a new scale (KD-8000), however, a lot of my formulating pots always hang off the edge.  Will My scale still weigh correctly if parts of the weighing container hang off the scale?

Hi!

it should. My pots always do the same. 
 

to test:

1)  I got the tare weight of my large pail and wrote it on the side (and on a piece of paper so I could keep track)

2) then I weighed the ingredient components in smaller amounts in a small container and added to the big pail.

3) at the end I weighed the big pail with all the ingredients in it.

 

incremental ingredients + pail weight should match at the end. My KD scales were pretty accurate in the end, but for peace of mind the test was worth while. 
 

I did the same with the shipping scale for larger batches as a backup.
