Soy Wax and Dyes , What to use and when to add them ?

Recommended Posts

Ive been making soy candles for about a year now and would really like to learn more about coloring my candles and wax melts, I use GB 464 for both my container candles and wax melts, and I recently made an order for Elite 300 ( I've read it was better for wax melts and releasing from molds ) . So anyways Id like to know what works best for all of you! Dye Blocks/Chips or Liquid Dyes ?

I think liquid dyes seem to work the best.  I don't use too much color, but now and then I might add just a hint of a swirl or layer and if you like to do that kind of stuff, liquid is easier to work with and seems to give more bold coloring.

Do you add the swirl in the pot of heated wax or in the jar?  I've never useddye but have someone asking for pink candles.  Thinking it might be a fun look to have a white candle with pink swirls instead of a solid pink candle.
