Karen Ov
Hi I need some help with fo %. I know that for 1 pound of wax 1 oz is 6%. So if I use 10.6 ounces of wax with 1 oz fo is that 8%? What would 10% be for 10.6 oz and 5.3 oz of wax and 8% for 5.3 ounces Thank You
TallTayl
I like to keep my candle formula math simple so here goes: oz of wax x Percent = Amount of fragrance 16 oz of wax X 6% (0.06 for calculators) = .96 oz fo. We round up to 1 oz for convenience in this math 10.6 oz wax x 0.08 = 0.85 oz fo the reverse to calculate the percent Of FO compared to the amount of wax would be 0.85 oz of FO / 10.6 oz of wax = 0.08 or 8% 10.6 oz of wax x 10% (use 0.10 for the math) = 1.06 oz fo we could get complicated to calculate the amount of FO in the whole pot, but then things get too complicated to be worth while. It is another discussion altogether. KISS is my favorite method.
