Kandlmaker
I’m new to this. I’ve been using my own blend of soy and paraffin but I’m trying to go more eco friendly. Is there a good blend of soy and beeswax on the market? Edited January 7, 2020 by Kandlmaker Mispelling
StanfordP
Probably going to have to come up with your own blend if you want to mix the two. But fair warning, beeswax does not perform the same as paraffin. In all fairness, negative connotations around paraffin wax are mostly marketing by the soy industry. If you like paraffin and think its best for your candles, then stick with paraffin.
ErronB
If you want to drop the paraffin then try a coco soy blend, beeswax is one of the worst for wicking and the scent throw isn't great either. Although saying that I haven't tried the new Lab & Co Beeswax blend, but at $10 PER POUND they can keep it.
TallTayl
Beeswax is a very wide variable ingredient. If you think soy varies from lot to lot, you ain’t seen nothing kid. plus, when working with beeswax in any amount, plan for long testing periods as it tends to harden and dry out a LOT over time, which may lead to wick swaps after a long cure. Sometimes this results on cracking of soy. in the end, what are you trying to achieve with the beeswax add? There may be better options.
