ruthie
I've been playing with the idea of storing my candles in a vacuumed sealed bag....the food sealer bags. I know about the storage containers with the '5' on the bottoms, but we have one of these vacuum sealers and wanted to know if anyone has tried it or if anyone knows of why I shouldn't use it? SatinDucky
It would probably depend on what kind of plastic it's made of whether or not it would kill the scent. Other than that, it's probably just a matter of looks. If you're just purely storing them, it wouldn't matter much. But for giving away/selling, it would look very tacky IMO. If it's something that will need to be packaged nicer later on for giving away or whatever, it would be a waste. The time and cost of materials would be doubled. I really don't see too much reason for packaging that way. You wouldn't want to store a bunch away until they're thoroughly tested, in case they don't burn right. If they are thoroughly tested, then they're likely going to someone else and will need to look nice.
topofmurrayhill
If you mean the bags used with the FoodSaver appliance, I can't find any info about that material but it would probably be the right kind og plastic, as long as you don't mind your candle looking like a leftover drumstick. AngelaVA
Try doing a search on here and on the old board. I know people have talked about it before, so there should be some information.
