Smokin'Hot
Hi everyone!I'm in need of some color help. I was asked to do votives for a wedding reception, hydrangea scented and hydrangea blue colored. I am having a hard time finding or even trying to make this color. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks everyone!Lori
candlesprite7
Is this the color you're looking for? What do you use for dye? chips or liquid...If you use chips I would say Colonial Blue with a bit of white...You may have to play with it a bit to get the exact color you want.I dont use liquid so maybe someone else can help with that?HTH! Good Luck!
Linnyeg
I would make up some samples in different blue shades and find out exactly what shade they want before you make all of them!
Scented
That looks like periwinkle blue to me. Wedgewood blue may be close to that color too.
AngelaVA
I make a periwinkle color with a drop of blue and small toothpick of red. You could also try blue with a touch of violet. You'll just have to make some testers and see what combo makes the color you are looking for. Good luck!
Fern
I was going to say the same thing Scented...Wedgewood Blue. Just go light to begin with and then gradually add a little more until to get to the shade you are looking for. Periodically check your color outside of the presto pot by spooning out a small amount on a white paper plate. When it solidifies it will be the color that is shown in your candle. You can't go by how it looks in the pot because although it may look like the right color when it's liquid...it always sets up lighter.
