babyrn Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Using IGI 4794 making votives and trying to color them black using liquid dye. No matter how much black I use, it is still blue. Any hints you can recommend? Quote
Scented Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Add some brown to it. How many drops of black have you put in? Quote
SatinDucky Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 You can counter act the blue tint with a tad if red and yellow. Using a toothpick is best if you're working with small amounts. Quote

Scented Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I'd go with some brown and green and red in there. It shouldn't take close to 30 drops to make black in that wax lol! Black is combo of every color, so you could toss in just about anything, but I wouldn't put blue in it. Quote
SatinDucky Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 That's why I mentioned red and yellow. Equal amounts of red, blue and yellow (primary colors) equal black. Quote

I'm thinking it may just be that I got a bad bottle of dye, it does look like blue in the bottle, but it's way darker than my other bottle of blue dye. Quote
