MicheleC
I had this happen twice now. I made some pink sugar tarts. Wiped them out and made some birthday cake tarts. The birthday cake tarts smell like pink sugar. Is this something that happens with silicone molds???
ChrisR
I have several silicone pillar molds I've used for many years and have never had the scent linger from one candle to the next. I don't wipe them down from candle to candle either.
MicheleC
Yeah I just searched it as well and don't see anyone else saying that either. It was just a cheap wilton mold would that matter?

I personally have never used or even own a wilton mold, so I really can't say anything good or bad about it.
TallTayl
I have never had the retained scent possibly left on a mold overtake the scent of the newly poured product (candles, melts, soap, etc). Both of the scents you used have a strong vanilla component. Could that be what you're smelling? To remove residual scent from silicone, I have had some success with soaking the mold baking soda and water (or baking soda and vinegar) removing residual scent.
