kountrytimes
I use 464 and add USA to the melting wax. Heat to 185 and pour about 175. I have a good scent throw BUT would like it to be better. Can I add more scent? I add 1oz to 1lb of wax?
jeanie353
464 will take double that if you wanted but I'd try 1.0-1.5 oz and a good cure of a week to see if that helps. Also, I've found HT can really change (better or worse) with a different wick.GL & HTH
Candybee
I always found that with soy candles I needed to add 8% pp. Try upping your FO to 1.25 to 1.50 oz pp and see if that helps. If you still don't get a good throw after using 1.5oz and giving them a good cure you may want to revisit your wicking system and try something different. Justjasen
I use 464 and I do 9% FO and have extremely good throw. I used to add 1/4 tsp of coconut oil to my 464 per 1/2 pound but never noticed any difference in throw so stopped.
moonshine
With 464 I always did 9% FO so if you try 1.5 ounces per pound that would be 8.5% and much easier to calculate - see if that helps
Chinku
Hello there - am testing 464 - have been using cargill c3 till now with great results. The company i get my wax from has stoped carrying it and so recommended 464 - i have tried everything, candle burns beautifully etc, but i get no scent throw. How long should i wait before testing? Also the candle tops are very un smooth after the first burn! Any idea why? Not the case when i first pour. I am using no color and approc 10% FO. These same fragrances get a fabulous throw in cargill at 9%!! Stumped! Any and all help would be great!TIAChinku
