MoonShadow
So I did a facial soap, no scent, with carrot puree and thought I'd try CPOP. The top looks like it has a matte "fuzzy" finish. Can I assume I left the 170 over on for too long (1 hour) and that caused these tiny bubbles in the top? How can you tell when your soap has reached full gel? (If I'm going to gel, I normally wrap and don't peak so don't know if I would recognize it.)
soycrazy
That is exactly what one of my batches did a couple weeks ago. My oven is old so I believe it went too high but I didn't know I was suppose to watch it. Here is a good video on it

Thanks so much for the link! That really helped.
soycrazy
This is what I think I did. I swear it looks like it boiled on top of the soap but it's still useable. Glad the link helped
ahutchins9
Those are air bubbles that rose to the top. I CPOP all my soap and get that sometimes. It will especially happen if you are CPOP'ing in a silicone mold
